A Letter from A Volunteer

One of our beloved volunteers has to leave us due to finding a job in another city, but we wanted to share the kind words she had for us:

Good morning,

Over Thanksgiving break, I accepted a job offer. It is very exciting as after graduation, This is a ‘once in a lifetime’ kind of opportunity for me. It starts as soon as possible so I will be moving in with family over next week.

Unfortunately, this means I will be unable to continue volunteering at Animal Ark, and it really saddens me to say it. I haven’t been a volunteer for very long, but honestly what I have seen at Animal Ark has left me in awe. Everyone is so passionate about the work that they do, and they are so kind to each other and to the animals. The trainers have so much patience when working with the dogs and cats, and they just radiate with love. The training sessions have taught me so many new things, and I always went home to tell my family what I had learned. The staff members have always helped me when I had a hard time training, and they have a positive attitude no matter how chaotic the office becomes. I remember a few weeks ago a little dog had been found and brought to Animal Ark, and I heard the staff trying so hard to find its home, even scouring through social media. When they found its possible home, they then tried to ensure that this home was actually good for this little one, and it warmed my heart to know that everyone wants what is best for these animals. Every time I went in, I was blown away by a kind act.

The work that you all do has inspired me to continue spreading the word about Animal Ark whether it’s through social media or word-of-mouth. I hope to someday come back to support the work you do – and even adopt a dog or cat. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity, and I want to thank everyone for everything that they do. I’m sad I can no longer be a part of it.

I apologize for the inconvenience that this last minute notice will cause. I might not even be able to say goodbye to Eloise and Linda Sue. I wish them and every animal (and person) at Animal Ark the best. Let me know if there’s anything I should do to help before I leave.

Thank you always.

A.N.
