A Message From Max Bitterman

img_6134Hi Everyone,

I am Max Bitterman, owner of Your Dogs Best Friend. Over the past 8 years, we have helped thousands of dogs, some deemed untrainable by professionals, be productive well socialized family pets. Over the past six months, we have been partnering with Animal Ark to work with some of their dogs who have special needs or behavioral issues.

I would like to share with you our philosophy and approach to learning how to help dogs and people. One of our many mantras is, if you take a baby from its mom, be a parent, not an owner. Rather than focus solely on a human’s philosophy on dog training, we take an approach where our primary focus is to study the dogs and teach ourselves.

As a company, our goal is to reach dog parents with puppies so they can learn to nurture their dog’s natural gifts and build a great foundation. We find that if you raise before you train, you can relate and communicate in a responsive and meaningful way as you go throughout life so that you can prevent dogs from becoming at risk. However, prevention is not always possible. Because a dog relating approach lends itself to successful rehabilitation, we are often called upon by dog owners and dog professionals for dogs with the worst trauma and behaviors.

These dogs that were often positively reinforced for societal negative behaviors can go from hurting themselves and others to happy and supportive family members who can be trusted in all situations. This helps them avoid being surrendered to rescue and shelters or allows the rescue and shelter dogs to be prepared with the wisdom and experience to succeed when they get their second chance.

Our doors are always open and we are a fun and friendly group where teamwork always rules. We believe great things happen when we listen to the dogs, each other, our clients and our community. We love having other trainers and dog owners come in to share and learn during our training sessions.

Sincerely,

Max Bitterman
