Shelter Tales, Volume 1, July 1, 2016

It’s been a busy week at the shelter!

We took in a street cat named Benson. He was in very rough shape when he came into us. A couple of nice ladies rescued him over last weekend and brought him to us. He’s such a lovey guy, we can’t wait for him to heal so he can be adopted by a loving family.

Bubba and Crystal had a great time at Pet-A-Palooza last Saturday and our pal Gomer enjoyed time at the Mizpah lodge. We love being able to get the dogs out to meet people!

There was also a nice couple who rescued three kittens from under a mobile home in the Hastings trailer park. They had fleas and were dirty with poor coat condition, but they are doing much better now that they are in the shelter.

We took in one cat with an injured tail. He is mending nicely and we look forward to putting him out for adoption soon. We also took in two cats and one dog (his name is Wilson) from other shelters in the area. The animals were scheduled for “death row”. We wanted to make sure they received another chance to find a good home.

Emily and her new family

Let’s not forget that little Emily found her forever home this week.

With our upcoming 4th of July promotion, we hope that many more of our animals will find their forever homes this weekend!
